Huntington Beach Pumps Brakes On Raises For Police Amid Budget Concerns

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA — A split Huntington Beach City Council opted to hold off on any pay increases for law enforcement amid concerns on whether the budget can afford an 18% wage hike over the next three years.

Instead of moving forward with the raise for Huntington Beach police as normal at Tuesday’s council meeting, council members asked their finance commission to study the issue more before the final vote in September.
