It’s no secret that the city has difficult decisions to make. For one, it’s facing a $93 million budget shortfall. There is concern about whether some of the cuts the city will have to make could come out of the public safety budget.
According to his latest recommendation, the city administrator has not recommended cuts to public safety. However, the current recommendation for funding “would keep the [police] Bureau at roughly at the same staffing level.”
